Impact community center is a non-profit agency that provides a life skill mentoring program for 10–17-year-old in the Fort Myers area. The organization will form partnerships with the local school district and others. Impact community center’s goal is to foster a commitment to young people that will promote strong life skills and career goals, which reassert a sense of hope in the future. The youth will also develop prosocial friendships and strong intrapersonal Skills. ICC will focus primarily on youth in grades 5th-12th grade. This age group is a perfect time for mentoring to be effective.

Impact community center life skills mentoring program will pair a youth with a mentor during the fall period. During that time the two will participate in weekly planned activities to strengthen the relationship between the two and improve the young person’s confidence and life skills. Mentors will receive continuous training throughout the year and will participate in monthly meetings to report the young person’s progress. Over time, ICC will create a learning environment that will be an invaluable resource to young people, aspiring mentors and the community at large.
